For a university assessment, we had to design promotional items for Faux Gallery pop-up exhibition called ‘Unfold - A Celebration of Design though Time.

Faux Gallery Exhibition

Faux Gallery is curating a traveling pop exhibition to document the evolution of design and demonstrate its visual language for all audiences.

Faux needs a series of promotional items to be developed to raise awareness about the exhibition.

For this initial task, we were required to create invitations in postcard format.

For these post card designs, I wanted to explore the visual language aspect of this theme and used what I had around my home. I implemented design fundamentals such as form, value, and composition within my designs. I also wanted to make sure that these invitations were visually eye-catching so they wouldn't be thrown away but rather kept and reused.

The next task was to create A3 poster designs to promote an exhibition in two cities: Paris and Miami.

I aimed to design posters unique to each city that blend into the cityscape without reinforcing stereotypes.

For the Paris poster, I aimed for a simple and chic look inspired by a unique concept. I used lipstick to create a unique effect by kissing the paper multiple times with varying pressure and shades, resulting in an intriguing design element. I carefully examined the lip stains to select the best ones and incorporated a hand-painted French text that translates to “Do you come here often?” This choice aimed to attract the audience's attention in public spaces and generate curiosity about the exhibition.

For the Miami poster, I aimed to infuse vibrant 80s colors to capture the essence of the era and create an abstract representation of the city that avoids common clichés, offering a fresh perspective.
